This horseback-riding warrior is the first real boss you encounter in the game. At first, I was really intimidated by him, because he is one a frickin' horse. He's fast, his weapon has huge range, etc. But once you really understood Sekiro's fighting mechanics, he really isn't that hard. This fight really isn't about dodging, it's about parrying. Stay where you are, wait for him to come to you and parry his attacks. Use your grappling hook to get to him when the symbl appears. And if he does his perilous attack, jump (but he didn't do it here, which I like, because as a Soulsborne veteran, jumping still isn't properly in ma brain yet.^^). At the end, I didn't know I had to press the attack button twice to execute him, that's why I did the end over and over again. :-D So when you defeat your first (and every other) boss: remember to excecute them after the final death blow (by pressing R1 once more).
