So yeah, first of all, he is easily one of the hardest bosses in all the Souls games (including Bloodborne). First, you'll have to drain his health on the bridge, so he falls into the abyss. That part isn't that hard. You can hide behind the rocks or do what I did. Hit, retreat (heal, if necessarry), repeat. Then, you can fight him in the abyss. (Unfortunately, the PS4 only recordes the past 15 minutes of gameplay, and since it took me a little more to defeat him, the beginning of my fight is missing. I'm sorry.) Once you practiced a little or watched videos of how to beat him, you should know his moves, and be able to identify them in time to dodge, block or avoid them. The hardest part then is to stay really focused for the huge amount of time you need to put up this fight, 'cause his health and defense is just insane. It is totally doable, but it takes way too long and can be over in a heartbeat, if you mess one little thing up. Don't put your money on great armour, he will kill you very quickly no matter what. You have to be light as a feather and very quick. Running and dodging is more important than a good shield, but the latter also can be useful. I used both a good shield and running/dodging. Good luck!
